FLIGHT PATHS (BIRD MIGRATION) (PB)

This is the story of how an eccentric group of ornithologists, engineers and other pioneering scientists finally figured out the details of bird migration - from where and when they take off, to their flight paths, behaviour, destinations and the challenges they face getting there. By applying technology as varied as radar, radioactive isotopes, satellites and the humble aluminium band, they gained an unprecedented insight into a natural phenomenon which has fascinated us for as long as we have looked up at the skies.
