WHEN THE STORKS CAME HOME (PB)

Eight-year-old Beanie loves birds. When she discovers that huge white storks used to live in her village, but were hunted to extinction 600 years ago, she is determined to find a way to bring them back. But storks can fly hundreds of miles, so just releasing them into the local countryside won't be enough to make them stay for good. With the help of other villagers, Beanie hatches a plan… A fictionalised retelling of the successful reintroduction of the white stork at the Knepp Estate near Brighton.
