The Portable Antiquities Scheme was established in the wake of the reform of Treasure Trove. It records finds by amateur archaeologists, metal detectorists and members of the public in England and Wales. This book highlights 50 of the most interesting and important Roman finds from the past twenty years, from well-preserved objects which cast light on everyday life, to the spectacular Crosby Garrett helmet and Ilam pan.
