TARTANS: FROM SCOTTISH CLANS TO CANADIAN PROVINCES (PB)

Tartans have a long and fascinating history, with patterns associated with a particular region dating from at least the 16th century. In the early 19th century, the novels of Sir Walter Scott captured the public imagination with romanticized accounts of dashing Highlanders, and started a trend for all things Scottish which continues to this day. This book features more than 250 setts, or patterns, including ancient tartans of Scotland and Ireland, along with others adopted by organizations and regions around the world in recent times.
